Re: Portable Tatung Einstein Emulation

I have lots of 80 track Double Sided 5.25" floppy discs that I need to image, but Mame does not support this format on Einstein emulation, even when running System 80. I take feature requests at https://www.robheaton.co.uk/tatung/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5. Let me know what real hardware configuration i...

I guess adding them to a list of working titles isn't a problem as it's just a list, right?
It also means they'll be distributed and will found in the MAME torrents that appear after every release.

Re: Unpublished Einstein Software

Thanks for making all these available. I'm surprised that unreleased stuff is still being found, great work!

I presume there's no objection to adding these to the MAME software lists, to make them more accessible? Should I credit anyone for the contribution?

Re: FlexiDOS

Thanks. I'll enjoy having a look at how this alternative DOS is configured :) Good to know it'll get a wider audience, let me know if there any emulation issues. Fabrizio Di Vittorio has developed a diagnostic ROM (2019) to test the firmware of the TC01. The ROM checks the RAM, PSG (AY-3-8910) and ...

Re: FlexiDOS

For anyone interested in playing with FlexiDOS it is now supported in the latest MAME 0.249 release. I've added the 2nd ROM socket so that any ROM can be loaded into it, in case any others are eventually found.

Re: FlexiDOS

There was an Einstein on sale from eBay ages ago that had the spare rom socket filled http://tatungeinstein.hopto.org/8-bit/Tatung%20Einstein/Serial%20No%20DB/National%20Telephone%20Systems/IMG_20140624_131229_949.jpg Some sort of custom telephony software on it. Don't suppose anyone here acquired ...

Re: FlexiDOS

Were there any other ROMs intended for this socket? So far I'm only aware of this FlexiDOS and the ROM for the Silicon Disc.

Re: FlexiDOS

So does the FlexiDOS boot option (‘B’) format a disc? Doesn’t sound likely to me, in which case there’s some extra software needed to support this - unless it’s hidden away somewhere in the ROM … After selecting the drive type for each drive it then wants to write this info back to the disk that wa...

Intrigued to know what happens if 'C' is pressed to 'Configure System'. Does it offer different format options? Here you go ... 0003.png 0004.png 0005.png Just seems to ask you to select the type of each drive selected. Incidentally, there's a message in the ROM that says it requires MOS 1.21, but ...

FlexiDOS

Anyone heard of, or know anything about FlexiDOS?

Thanks to @RetroBC_Pete here's a ROM dump.

And here it is running in MAME:
