So ... The hardware has been sold off, but there are still some bits left.
--This is what is available
Nowt. I am putting it all on eBay individually and taking the extorsionate fee hit, just to get it all out of the house.
A lot of stuff has sold already - the original discs seems popular

Re: Einstein Assembly Language Course book - anyone bidding?
Oh, that would be good. Not into Assembler myself, so have been looking at converting old C code to Z88dk. Console output only seems to work really well.

Re: Einstein Assembly Language Course book - anyone bidding?
Not that I am aware, but out of all my Einstein collection, this is one of the books I will never sell as it has the disc with it in the nice shiny foldy box type thing! If I get some time I might try and scan it, but there are a lot of pages and I don't want to damage the spine by rushing a quick s...

Something new
While I was on holiday over the last 2 weeks I had a go at some more z88dk coding. Here is my initial try at a ZX Spectrum Screen$ (.scr file) load and display. Bionic commando load screen.png Still need to work out the colours, but it loads in thirds just like the original speccy. Having now sold m...
Re: 3" Disks
It is probably worth changing the drive belts if there are any. The ones I had in my Einstein appeared to be direct drive so didn't have any visible belts. Some machine oil on the spindles wouldn't go a miss either. Wd40 is a no go, don't use that. There will be a jumper block on the drives for ds0,...
Re: 3" Disks
You could try System 80 instead of xtal dos. I have used that to read 5.25" DSDD floppies on the Einstein.
It is available on my server here: https://mikesretrotech.co.uk/userfiles/ ... stem%2080/

New machine on eBay - might be good for parts
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364414915076?hash=item54d8d25204:g:XtkAAOSw259k14qc £50 starting bid! Machine case looks clean, keyboard is in a sorry state. Might be good for key swithes and key tops and spare drive etc? Might even work - Who knows. I would have bid/bought, but moving out of the house m...

Re: It's all got to go!
Yes, it is no longer self hosted so as long as I keep paying for it, it will be there 😀 I still hope to be able to find einstein software while on our travels as most motorhomers are older weekenders who may have retro computers and forgotten software in their lofts at home. Always have a hat full o...
