Re: RAM Troubles

Sinclair machines have pretty decent caps indeed. I've never seen one with bad caps :)

I've seen many Z80 failures; but never causing that color distortions. PSU, if there's too many ripple in the voltage, can cause some video problems and noisy signals.

Re: RAM Troubles

Mmm, caps?. I would consider a recapping although then Einstein, AFAIK, doesn't suffer usually of bad caps...or at least not like the Newbrain

Re: The Floppy Drive Thread

The drive itself is an EME-150C which is apparently not compatible with other drives from the amstrad etc? The drive in my 6128 was some amstrad type thing, I've lost the drive from my speccy +3 and I only removed the sodding thing on the weekend too! Indeed, this drive has been use in CPC world bu...

Re: The Floppy Drive Thread

Beware the Osborne one has power lines side by side with data lines, use this and your drive will bang (at least if you plug the power connector :-)). Well, I guess the designer will have taken this into account and cut some tracks...

Re: AGD Einstein

It's really good for create all kind of platform games or as you say, top down "atic atac" mazes; but I know of examples of every genre. Maybe the text adventures are not possible and everything with scrolling scenarios; but you can create mostly everything you want. Check this examples: https://www...

Re: AGD Einstein

Not really hard, don't worry :-) An AGD suite has the following parts: 1) The "engine". An assembler source with all the core routines. 2) A "compiler". Programmed in C and responsible of reading the AGD source and traslating every command or sequence of commands in functional blocks, generating inl...
