Sinclair machines have pretty decent caps indeed. I've never seen one with bad caps
I've seen many Z80 failures; but never causing that color distortions. PSU, if there's too many ripple in the voltage, can cause some video problems and noisy signals.

Mmm, caps?. I would consider a recapping although then Einstein, AFAIK, doesn't suffer usually of bad caps...or at least not like the Newbrain

The drive itself is an EME-150C which is apparently not compatible with other drives from the amstrad etc? Beware the Osborne one has power lines side by side with data lines, use this and your drive will bang (at least if you plug the power connector ). Well, I guess the designer will have taken this into account and cut some tracks...
