Re: Einstein Assembly Language Course book - anyone bidding?

Very interesting to have this detail. Thanks for the photos. The full list of MCAL routines is listed in Albert Revealed (see Section 2) so thankfully it does look as if the information is also available elsewhere ... I've not used any of these calls directly in any code I've written as yet, so clea...

Re: Einstein Assembly Language Course book - anyone bidding?

Thanks for your post confirming your auction bid for this very rare book. I didn't bid myself, but I see the auction attracted significant bids because this copy of the book seems to be only one in existence! From what I can deduce from the few photos in the listing it seems similar in layout and sc...

Re: Today I Received...

The IC on the mystery board is a NE592x14.

A google search suggests this may be a video signal amplifier.

Perhaps tracing how it's connected up to the main board will reveal some more clues ...

Re: Help with External Drives please, and booting Externally from MOS

If Drive 0 is physically missing or not functioning correctly, or if DOS has not been initialised (e.g. you've no system disc) you'll drop into MOS at startup. Even without DOS, it's possible to use the built-in Read command in MOS to load and run a program from a disc in any drive. You just need to...

Re: Time to part-ex your Sinclair!

With 20 free games included worth £180!

Subtract the cost of postage and packing from your £199 and that's almost equivalent to a free Einstein computer. Nice :D

Re: Intermittent keyboard issues?

This hack uses CHR$() with an ASCII code to set a Function Key to replace a non-working key. But when my 'C' key stopped working, I wondered what I might do now as I couldn't type 'CHR$'. I'd not really used the cursor control arrow keys previously, and was surprised to discover the Einstein has som...

Don't think it's well known, but there's an inbuilt cheat in the Einstein version of Chuckie Egg. Redefine default keys as follows: Up - any key you like Down - any key you like Left - Z Right - X Jump - Space or Enter Pressing all five keys together on any level in the game skips to the next level ...
