Thanks for the tip on checking, and of course it's a problem with the 0 key not the space - what was I thinking.
I'm working on my game atm, but i'll get the contact cleaner out later and hopefully that will do the job.
thx.

OK, as long as I'm pleasing one person that's enough Even if it has been done before I guess I'll end up making different puzzles.

Has this game been written?
To get a feel for the Einstein I thought I'd write a simple game in BBC BASIC. I figured I'd do something similar to 'The Children' on the Atari which is based on Pitman on the MZ-700: The Children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B71Zu6TGl4M&ab_channel=ATARI8BITSFOREVER Pitman: https://www.youtube....

Minor keyboard problem
Something a little strange with my space bar, wondered if anyone else has similar problem. The space bar works fine except after a zero '0' when it seems to need a little time delay before registering (I often end up having to press it a second time because it doesn't register the first time). This ...

Re: 80 column card fault
A good clean and reseating chips hasn't helped. I guess the next thing is to grab a magnifying glass and check and reflow any suspicious joints.
Or maybe it could be the actual pipe connection on the motherboard, I guess that will need checking too.

Re: 80 column card fault
A quick clean resulted in black screen instead of garbled (not sure if that's a good thing or not). I'll give it a proper clean tomorrow and check the board over. 3 of the chips are socketed so i'll reseat those. Just thought it might be a common problem (although nothings common with Einsteins) tha...

I cleaned the contacts a bit, which were filthy, and now I'm just getting a black screen

80 column card fault

Re: BSOD
Damn, getting that board out was a bitch. Which idiot thought putting a button on one side and a volumn control on the other side was a good idea? My machine is mint, so I didn't want to dissasemble more than I needed, but ended up stripping the thing down completly  I'm so stressed now, and us...
Re: BSOD
The only IC that gets even a little bit warm is the TMS9129NL, although certainly nothing to worry about. But I got an IC from http://www.buy-transistors.com/ics/tms9129nl.html (last one) so I think I'll see if replacing that will help, if not I'll grab a couple of TMS4416-15NL and see if the RAM is...
