Re: einSDein troubleshooting
Thanks LB, also others for the replies by email. Alas the answers shot my theory down in flames - which in a way is a good thing because it's spurred me on to investigate deeper to see if I could see what was going on. Which I think I did. I have to apologise because I was slow to blame the einSDein...

Re: einSDein troubleshooting
Another einSDein user is reporting the same problems :( I'm doing some investigation and I think I'm on to something. Can you please have a look at the PIC chip and let me know its type? I want to know if any of the boards with issues have a particular model number on there. You will need some magni...

Nice! Welcome!
Re: DSK tool
I hope so! I opted for a command line program rather than a gui app because 1> cross platform gui is hard 2> can be driven by terminal scripts when developing.

Re: MAME: Einstein Emulation
Yes, I see this. I did wonder if I'd broken the disk format somehow - If you could try with a dsk that hasn't been written by my program then that would eliminate this as a source of issues. I neglected to mention that the files in the list.txt for the packer shouldn't have a path on them, but reall...

Re: MAME: Einstein Emulation
Yep, I've got something to extract all files off'v the dsk image. I'll sort it out in the next day or so. I don't have anything to insert a file into an existing image.

Re: MAME: Einstein Emulation
There is also a tool shipped with mame but I've never worked out how to use it. That might actually be the best bet.

Re: MAME: Einstein Emulation
Sure does. I've attached a zip containing my rudimentary packer tool. It needs: a 'donor' disk image, to copy the DOS and boot sector from. a list of the files to write From there you run it and it will create 'floppy.dsk' which you then use as a normal image in mame, einSDein or whatever. Here's th...

Re: MAME: Einstein Emulation
I've written a few tools to manipulate disk images. They're not very friendly though. No drag and drop m'fraid. Also Mac/linux only at the moment. I might have a go at doing a thing in javascript if I get some time, but until then I'll try and build the tools for windows. It won't be pretty but you ...
