Tatung Monitor Replacement

Post by Sanxion » Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:08 am

Hi all,

I am new to this forum so first I would like to say hello to you all!

Next, I want your opinion on the best replacement monitor for the Einstein. What do you guys use?

Thanks

Welcome! I just use a flat screen TV with a scart socket.

Thanks for the response...I know that is an option and I recently bought a scart cable for that very purpose but I do personally prefer CRTs with the old machines. LCDs/TFTs just don't look or feel the same for me.

I have a Tatung monitor which is currently fine, except for one dead pixel…

I wonder if you can use the same monitors as the BBC Micro? I’m assuming they are pin compatible as I use a beeb SCART cable with my Einstein.

My Tatung monitor has developed some discoloration in the top left corner so I have been looking for an alternative and am considering a CUB monitor as it should be compatible.

Mark at RetroClinic sometimes has CUBs for sale.

I have a Tatung monitor but have also used TVs and 15khz monitors such as you might use with an Amiga.

Tv worked fine but have had an issue with overscan cropping a bit of the text off and some have no controls to adjust it.

Something like a Philips/Commodore 1084 would do well
