Both look lovely!

Will they be self build or will there be a built option? (Hoping for the latter. :D )
They will be already assembled, when I have the time.
Excellent! 8-)

On the SD Card front, SirMorris (Charlie Robson) is the creator of einSDein an SD card interface.

A demo of it working can be found on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA3agKxpm8k

Imagine a speculator with this load speed! :D

Is there a schematic for einSDein, or a list of the pipe pins the SD-X uses?

Not as such.

That is Charlie's blog and you can searhc for einSDein related posts. There are some work in progress pictures of the board and info on programming the PIC controller and rom requirements etc.

It might help?

I haven't forgotten about the Speculator or the Silicon Disc. I've been badly delayed by another project but all my Einstein kit is down from the attic and ready to try over the weekend. Fingers crossed!
